Carbonized bamboo flooring has a richer color pallet than natural bamboo, which adds a more luxurious touch to your home. In the carbonizing manufacturing process, the bamboo is steamed under controlled pressure and temperature. The sugar content in fiber breaks down and becomes darker, giving a beautiful caramel shading to the flooring.
Often thought of as a wood floor, bamboo is actually a grass. It is a green product, meaning it is ecologically friendly. Unlike hardwoods which can take at least fifty years to grow, bamboo only takes five years to mature enough to be suitable for manufacturing into flooring. The root system stays in tacked so replanting is not necessary so the stalks regenerate on their own. With two mainly color choices and three styles, technological advances in manufacturing and staining are creating more color choices every day, bamboo is becoming more popular everyday.
